RGB


RGB is an abbreviation for Red, Green and Blue. It is used for representing colors through digital devices like TV screens, monitors and Projectors.
  • Each on of them is represented by the combination of three numbers.
  • In RGB each color can be represented numerically in 256 different ways.
  • When someone talks about an RGB color it describes a mixing of Red, Green and Blue colors.

On a screen you begin with dark foundation and by adding light you get colors.
  • RGB is called additive color mix.
  • All colors begin with black to which different colors of lights are added to produce colors.
  • 16 million colors can be made by different RGB combinations.

Those 16 million colors are reduced to 216 colors for the purpose of web page creation.
  • All browser safe, two digit HEX color codes fall in range : 00, 33, 66, 99, CC, FF HEX(0, 51, 102, 153, 204, 255 decimal).
  • #FE6136 is not browser safe and #FF6633 is a browser safe color.
  • RGB is not used for printing on a paper. Color printers cannot print yellow.
