Pixel


A pixel is a short abbreviation of the "Picture(pix) Element(el)", which is the smallest unit representation for visual representation.
  • It is a single point in a graphics image.
  • Pixel are so close together that they appear connected in a image.
  • The image that is displayed on the screen is composed of thousands of small dots called pixels.

The specific color that a pixel describes is mix of three components of color spectrum - RGB.
  • Each pixel is represented by a number to assign a color, range between 0-255.

Pixel Density :

The pixel density depends on the number of pixels available per inch of its screen, which is referred to as pixels per inch(PPI) or dots per inch(DPI).
  • It is varied from one device to other device.
  • A low density screen has fewer pixels within a given physical area compared to medium or high density.
