CMYK


The CMYK is the abbreviation for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK which represent four ink colors.
  • By overlapping these four colors huge number of colors can be created.
  • It allows the printers to build up the exact colors that have been used in your design.
  • Printing this four colors are applied to the paper in layers.

When you look the printout closely, we can see dots in appropriate colors.
  • CMYK is a subtractive color model used in printing.
  • It use light absorption rather than reflection in RGB.
  • All colors begin with white, to which different colors are added to absorb(subtract) the amount of light that is reflecting. Exactly the opposite of the properties of RGB color.


They are represented in percentages 0-100%. Anything that is printed in Business cards, posters, newspapers, books etc, all use   CMYK.
  • CMYK model consists of 1 million colors.
  • Printing has an accuracy rating of eighty five percent.
