Modulation

Modulation is process of superimposing the low frequency message signal over the high frequency carrier signal.

• The signals are transmitted from one place to another through the communication channel.
• Modulation is classified into following types.

Analog Modulation :

• In analog modulation, analog signal(sinusoidal signal) is used as the carrier signal that modulates the message signal.
• The analog modulation uses different techniques as shown below.

 

Digital Modulation :

For better quality and efficient communication we use digital modulation.

• The main advantage is it has less noise ratio.
• In digital modulation, the message signal is converted from analog to digital then modulated by using the carrier signal.
• We have three types of Digital modulation techniques.
